The M3 DS Simply is what is called a slot 1 homebrew solution for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite hand held gaming system. Slot 1 part of the name refers to the slot games on Nintendo DS hand held. For those of you reading this and not in the know, the Nintendo DS has 2 cartridge slots. The first is the Slot 1 for Nintendo DS, and the second before slot 2 for gameboy game cartridges progress.

A card slot 1 because it is very covetted before the slot 1 solutions, we had to put a gameboy advance cartridge large and PassMe card in your Nintendo DS. While this method of Nintendo DS homebrew rom game worked as well, was very unpleasant, not to mention that was approximately twice price.

The M3 DS simply allows Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite owners to fully leverage their handheld systems. You can upload any type of Nintendo DS Roms and homebrew games and applications with only one cartridge of this, which looks and acts like a normal game cartridge for Nintendo DS. While this article is not meant to serve as a M3 DS simply review, I will be the list of ways in which you use the M3 DS Simply.

The M3 DS Simply is essentially ready for use outside of the box with the exception of a microSD card, you will need to purchase either online or on local radio shack or Best Buy type store. Included with the M3 DS simply is a microSD card reader that plugs into the USB port that allow you to quickly and easily copy files from games and homebrew applications directly to the microSD card.

So how do you use the M3 DS Simply? It's pretty simple. The M3 DS Simply uses microSD memory cards. They work just like the Secure Digital / SD with the only difference is their size. MicroSD cards are extremely small in size, however, pack as much storage as their older sisters. With the reader microSD card included / writer, you can connect your microSD card into any computer's USB port. Then simply drag and drop files from your PC to your microSD card (which have been shown as a removable disk). Once you've selected all the files you want to put on the card (and the game on his Nintendo DS) Remove the reader / writer and remove the microSD card.

The top of the M3 DS simply, small as it is actually has a slot in the top of the one where you can insert a microSD card. Using the directional pad, you can scroll up or down on the games list and select the game you want to load by pressing A. You are prompted to press the button again if you have not Save file created for the game. The Save file is a small file created on the progress of your M3 DS simply store all your saved games. Once done, see the progress bar when loading the game in the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS. Games load in just a second or two. This is the place to load homebrew games or applications.

The second menu is the Media Manager. The administrator of the media allows you to upload your favorite songs in MP3, video files (Yes, all DVD movies can be compressed and put on your microSD card) and JPG images and electronic books. You'll have to drag and drop ebooks mp3 music files or video from your PC to the microSD card to be used in the M3 DS simply, but that is essentially the same. The application running Manager media called the moon, and turns your Nintendo DS Lite into a full blown hand held multi-system entertainment media. If you're like me, and read eBooks on the road, then this is a MUST. And you can throw your iPod as well, because the Nintendo DS has just become a portable electronic book and music player. "Not to mention the fact that you will be able to watch movies on the road, with construction on the movie player functionality.

The option final hosted by the M3 DS simply is the slot BOOT Option 2. This option loads all game cartridge or flash cartridge into the slot 2 of your Nintendo DS Lite. Slot 2 is Game Boy Advance in the NDS console port. You can even buy a separate cartridge for homebrew and really unleash the full potential of your Nintendo DS with thousands of Game Boy games Advance homebrew and applications.

Finally, the M3 DS simply is an accessory that truly unlocks the full potential of your Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite handheld system game. Offering thousands, not only home games and applications free, but adds a complete set of multimedia features and functions of your Nintendo DS.
